Michael van der Ham is another emerging designer who has generated quite a lot of press during the Fashion Week. His A/W 2012 collection revolves around a palette of cream, navy blue, black and turquoise as well as splashes of colour in the form of coral, orange and gold. The fabrics of choice are organza and printed hammered silk, beautifully mixed with metallic wool boucle, silk jersey, semi sheer flecked metallic jacquard and metallic lace. The impalpable fluidity of the fabric is enhanced by asymmetrical hemlines that create an elegantly feminine and graceful movement. The silhouette is structured, yet soft and feminine and the clean cut of the designs enhances the bold prints, the hand-finished appliques and the elaborate draping.
