Inspired by the 1920s and the 1960s, David Koma’s A/W 2012 collection is a triumph of ruched waist enhancing draping and sleek and structured, almost architectural, silhouettes. The collection finds its foundation in neutral colours such as black, cream and navy blue. Splashes of colour are added in the shades of plum, more luminous tones of blue and dark green, often creating a beautiful multicolour effect enhanced by the shiny texture of the silk. Graphical sequined patterns reminiscent of the 1960s are a recurring lait-motif throughout the collection. The silhouette is extremely feminine as the waist enhancing line of all the creations beautifully flatters womanly shape and curves.
